Disabled Access

We are very aware that not everyone is a mobile as they would like to be, so here is description of things that might make access to the Tea Shop tricky for some.

Access to our Tea Shop from the road is over 1.5m (58 inches) of cobbles leading onto a 0.6 metre (2 foot) wide concrete plinth 8.35cm (3 1/4 inch) step into the building.

The Tea Shop is on one level. Wheelchairs can be used in the Tea Shop, but note that we are located in a Grade 2 Listed 16th Century building, so unfortunately, everything is not level!

Outdoor seating in our rear courtyard is wheelchair accessible at ground level through the Coach Archway to the right of the building. The courtyard is on a slight incline. There are no steps between the High Street and the Courtyard but there is 1.5 metres (58 inches) of cobbles to traverse.

The customer toilet is located in the Courtyard through a 1 metre wide door way with a 10cm (4 inch) step. Grab rails are not installed due to the fabric of the building.

Customer Toilet

We have one toilet for the use of our customers.

Access is from the ouside of our building. Use the Coach Archway to the right of the building, and you will find the toilet on the left hand side of the courtyard.

Please be aware that the Coach Archway is on a slight incline and there  is a small step of 10 cm (4 inches) into the toilet. The toilet door is 1 metre (39 inches) wide.

Grab rails are not installed due to the fabric of the building.

We sell Gluten Free products in our Tea shop and can provide Gluten Free breakfasts to our B&B guests upon request.
